The all new Demi Lovato World Tour (including Christina Perri and DKTO) came through town last night at the Peterson Events Center in Oakland. This was our first concert experience at the Center and I’d say the sound system was superb and I don’t think there is a bad seat in the house.

Pittsburgh was the 3rd stop on her all new tour promoting her studio album Demi, and comes out right on the heals as a follow up to last year's "Neon Lights" tour. This tour offers new twists and lots of surprises for her fans. Yep, she's had her share of issues in the past ... and says she remains "focused on becoming a better person everyday and staying and positive and strong." As a parent, I appreciate the fact that she is transparent with her past and has clearly cleaned up her act and is focusing on becoming a better person. I also appreciate that she focuses more on her music and inspiring fans with who she is, as opposed to how she dresses and acts on stage. I have a lot of respect for her and was happy to take my girls along for the show. Demi had a lot to share, in terms of inspiration and insight, with her fans in between songs and I found her personal stories and fan interaction to be a highlight of this show. For example, Demi shared how on her recent 21st birthday, she headed to Africa to "plaster walls" instead of "getting plastered" and how much cooler it was – she went on to perform “Warrior “ with a highlight video of her recent trip to Africa playing on the big screens. She shared that the words of this song had brought all new meaning after her life changing trip. Another highlight would be the “Frozen” rendition she does so beautifully, the audience practically outsang her on this one, a big hit. Mom warning - Demi does use a few flavorful "adult" words at points throughout the evening, a little out of place in a venue containing so many under 16 in the crowd. All in all, my girls (14 and 9) found it to be a fabulous night out … a really great concert full of energy, favorite songs and and thousands of screaming girls!

Demi is touring thorugh October this year and in most cities is opened by MKTO and Christina Perri … I’d highly recommend you check out the show if it comes near you!
