The leaves are changing color and falling to the ground, the air is cool and crisp, pumpkins are the decor of choice, and that means it’s a great time to get out and take the whole family to a corn maze. We recently went to Amazing Fall Fun in Waterloo, IN and had a blast! The weather wasn’t the greatest, cloudy and cold, but it was fun nonetheless. There’s more to do than just the corn maze too but I’ll get to that in a minute. You begin the corn maze in a little “foyer” of sorts. It has all the information regarding the 2 parts of the maze as well as what to do if you get lost in the maze.

We did the first phase of the maze without any problems what-so-ever. Now the second phase was a bit more challenging. We, of course, didn’t make all the correct turns so I would say we walked somewhere in between the 1.06 miles and 5.44 miles. It seemed like we just kept going in circles. One thing that really made the corn maze even more fun was that it was interactive! They had fun games you could play while you were in there. One was called Cornundrum. There were signs at different parts of the maze and you had to figure out what the sign was. This one threw us for a loop for a minute but them my mom yelled out, “Goose Bumps”! There was also another one that we couldn’t get and gave up but as we were walking away, once again, my mom yells out, “Hog Wash”! It was a picture of a pig in a tin tub.

This was only one game that you could play within the maze. It was the only one that we played but there were many others. Plus there is a pumpkin hidden somewhere within the maze and if you find it and bring it to the ticket booth you’ll get a prize. We never found the pumpkin.

Here’s a picture of the corn maze this year so you’ll understand why the second phase isn’t so easy. About a third of the picture, on the left, is the first phase and the second phase is the other two thirds, on the right.

You can see at the bottom where one phase starts and where the second phase starts. This corn maze is HUGE!!! I don’t know how they make these things because I certainly could never figure something like that out but it truly is a work of art that gets destroyed at the end of the season, so in a way a limited time piece of art. Once you’ve finally figured your way out there are plenty of other things for the kids to do. There are barrel rolls, wheelbarrow races, a haystack, a pumpkin patch to find that perfect pumpkin, and so much more!

Each year Amazing Fall Fun averages around 10,000 visitors!!! (if the weather cooperates that is) This is the fourth year that Amazing Fall Fun has been open and bringing a great family friendly activity to families. Every year there are more activities added and the maze just gets better and better. Here are a few pictures of past mazes.

If you’re looking for a great activity this weekend, and you’re in the area, I highly suggest checking Amazing Fall Fun out!! We had so much fun despite the cold and will be returning. You can find directions as well as any other information you may need on their website.
